Blockhouse Portland Wedding

If you are looking for an urban setting with lots of natural light for your celebration, then don’t skip on this Blockhouse Portland wedding. Molly and Peter leaned into the unique spaces at this venue for their wedding and the photographs turned out so picturesque!

BLOCKHOUSE in Portland, OR is part plant nursery, part wedding venue. It has the perfect indoor space with a bar and buffet table for food, nestled right into the gorgeous green lush jungle of POMARIUS NURSERY. You get the joy of being surrounded by stunning plants, right in the middle of the city.

On Molly and Peter's day, we first met at the WOODLARK HOTEL, a gorgeous spot on Alder Avenue in downtown Portland. This space mirrored their wedding venue with its green jungle wallpaper and a bright velvet-couch-filled lobby.

These two got dressed in separate rooms and then had a first look in front of the giant light-filled windows. After, we visited ABIGAIL HALL (my favorite bar nestled in the back of the hotel, a little spot that makes me feel like I’m in Paris) to get a few romantic photos of them. We walked around on Alder Street and found some streets to cross and some windows to perch in, then headed to the venue which is only a few minutes from the hotel.

Once at the venue, there are a ton of spots to take fantastic photos. The buildings in the surrounding area are a great industrial backdrop in contrast to all the plants. And the options are endless at POMARIUS! There is gorgeous life everywhere you look and finding a pretty spot is not hard for your Blockhouse Portland wedding.

As an Oregon wedding photographer, I’ve captured many weddings in and around the Portland area. Blockhouse is one of my favorite venues in Portland. The space is easy to navigate on the day and the venue is small enough that you can comfortably explore every inch with your wedding photographer.
